A Certain Scientific Railgun
Weird at times, but their world is super cool, and I think the mystery aspects of the story are phenomenal.

This one was a sleeper hit, and unjustly so. I don't think any anime's inspired me to just get up and do something quite like this one did.
A Sign of Affection
The male lead is a bit pushy for my tastes, but I felt like the author handled hearing loss with respect. It's clear that they put a lot of research into not only JSL, but the deaf/HoH community as well.
Aharen-san wa Hakarenai
It's cute. Raidou really steps up to understand somebody who is constantly overlooked but has a ton of personality underneath, and I think their dynamic works incredibly well together.

I like Alya and Kuze's relationship, but his sister (or, uh, childhood friend?) needs to chill tf out.

[C]-Control - The Money and Soul of Possibility
If there's any one show that I can say had all of the right elements and none of the right execution, it's C. The world is interesting, the characters are unique, and the tension throughout the series is palpable. ...Or rather, it should be. Unfortunately, none of the positive marks come together cohesively, and you're left with 11 episodes of something that could've, would've, and should've been great, but isn't. Even so, I have it on here because I still think about it even after all these years, and fervently wish they'd go back and give it a proper treatment.

Eureka Seven
This show does a funny thing of having a bunch of lighthearted episodes and then suddenly transitioning into some pretty brutal moments. Also the plot twist at the end of the series is just phenomenal. Seriously didn't see it coming.

Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex
I love everything Ghost in the Shell. SAC was my first introduction to the series and it's still probably one of the best anime series I've ever seen. (And they're making a new one, which is also phenomenal!)

K-ON is one of those "cute girls doing cute things" animes where you can just turn your brain off and relax.

My Dress-Up Darling
I have a love/hate relationship with this series. I ended up getting hooked on Marin and Gojou's relationship and wanting more, so I picked up the manga and... ugh. I won't give any details, but after what's probably one of the best arcs I've ever read in a manga, the author royally drops the ball and rushes to the end. It felt like the author went through some kind of inner turmoil, poured all of it into a set of chapters that went far beyond the boundaries of the series (it's a serious departure, but absolutely phenomenal), and then... just gave up, like they were emotionally tapped out.
My Hero Academia
I didn't think I'd like MHA. I had heard about it when it came out, and a lot of my friends raved about it, but I didn't pick it up until S2 was airing. But lo and behold, I was hooked. I kinda wish we had another arc or two to enjoy before the Big Bad makes his final move, but it is what it is.
Neon Genesis Evangelion
I'm not a NGE super-fan or anything, but it's still a really phenomenal piece of media. I had the limited edition box set at one point, but I have no idea where I put it.
Noein: To Your Other Self
It drags on a bit, but Noein will mess with your head. No spoilers, but it's about quantum realities and the power of observation (where observing something validates it's existence).
Paranoia Agent
One rainy Saturday night, I fell asleep on the couch during summer vacation. When I woke up, this was playing on the TV. I had absolutely no idea what was going on, and the imagery burned itself into my brain for eternity. It's freaky and weird and may not be for everyone, but damn if it doesn't stick with you.
Sabikui Bisco
I don't know how to describe it. I don't know what I'd rate it. But it's crazy and unique and I enjoyed it immensely.
Solty Rei
Another show that very few people know about. Roy's a tragic character, and seeing the light slowly come back into his eyes after adopting Solty just warms the heart.

Isekai slop except it's done right. Some of the action sequences are just pure gold.

The Pet Girl of Sakurasou
The male lead is a dick sometimes, but I can at least say he apologizes when he realizes he's messed up. Mashiro is precious, and when Misaki gave the senior graduating speech, I actually cried. Good stuff.
The Rising of the Shield Hero
Do yourself a favor, and stop after the first season. That's how I choose to keep it in my memory; I won't acknowledge what they did afterwards.
